AI-Moderated Qual at Scale: Taking the Stage with Danone

On the 30th January, our Co-founder and Head of Innovation, Ester Marchetti, joined Alex Altamira, Director of Consumer Capabilities and Foresight at Danone, to showcase how Danone has taken hold of AI to further their research capabilities.

The session highlighted how AI-moderated research is revolutionising qualitative insights by enhancing idea screening, enabling faster concept validation and reducing time-to-market without compromising quality.

How Danone Used AI to Unlock Deeper Consumer Insights

Traditional qualitative research has always been about uncovering consumer truths, but when exploring deeply personal and emotionally complex topics like parenting, the challenge becomes even greater.

For Danone’s Aptamil brand, BoltChatAI was deployed to help understand how younger generations of mothers experience the joys and challenges of parenthood.

The study spanned 17 countries, engaging 6,200 respondents and capturing 185,000 minutes of conversation.

Unlike static surveys, BoltChatAI’s AI-driven moderation allowed for deeper, more natural discussions, ensuring that responses weren’t just collected but explored.

Participants engaged across multiple formats, including text, audio, photo and video, adding rich layers of context to their experiences.

BoltChatAI provided Danone with a truly global view of modern parenting, helping them refine their brand strategy and product development with real consumer-driven insights.
